Teens will dive into the world of filmmaking during our Short Film Boot Camp, meeting on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from March 7 through May 2. Campers will learn how to cast and direct actors, storyboard scenes, block shots, and edit their final project like a pro. From script development to closing credits, students will gain hands-on, behind-the-camera experience while collaborating with peers to bring an original short film to life. It’s an immersive, multi-week experience centered on creativity, teamwork, and powerful storytelling, perfect for teens ready to tell their stories on screen!​

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Understand and apply pre-production planning using an existing script

• Analyze a script for storytelling, pacing, and visual direction

• Practice scene blocking and visual storytelling

• Demonstrate basic filming techniques (camera, lighting, sound)

• Participate in casting and directing actors

• Complete basic video editing and post-production for a short film

 

WHAT THEY'LL EXPERIENCE:

Pre-Production: Learn how to choose the right actors for your story and guide them through performances that bring characters to life.

Storyboarding: Map out your script visually—breaking down acts, pacing, and story beats to create a clear plan for filming.
Scene Blocking & Shot Techniques: Discover how to position actors, design movement, and use camera angles to make each scene visually powerful.
Editing in Post-Production: Piece it all together by cutting, arranging, and locking scenes—then add credits to give your film a polished finish.

• Students must be ages 13-17

• Lunch will be provided upon arrival each day beginning at 11:00am
