About the event
Remix the Runway: Fashion Upcycling Camp is a hands-on creative experience where teens learn how to transform worn, outdated, or discarded clothing into unique, runway-ready fashion pieces. Through sewing, design, styling, and upcycling techniques, students will explore sustainable fashion practices while developing creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
Participants will gain practical fashion design experience, learn basic garment construction and alteration techniques, and create original pieces to showcase at the end of the program. Beyond fashion, students will develop entrepreneurial thinking, environmental awareness, and an understanding of how the fashion industry impacts communities and the planet.
This program is important because it empowers young people to think creatively about sustainability, reduce textile waste, and discover how innovation and self-expression can turn everyday items into something extraordinary.
